EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Joe Crawford, it was announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Selected by the Lakers with the 58th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Crawford, a 22 year-old native of Detroit, Michigan, played four seasons at the University of Kentucky, averaging 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 127 games (76 starts).

The NBA has set standards for rookies salaries, right? The 1st year guarantee for Joe is approximately $800,000

crawford becoming a Laker means more than most will realize…..if he were still playing for Tubjelly Smith, there’s no way he’d have a career after college…say thanks to our awesome coach!…believe it or be an idiot.

16)All of Tubby’s recruits that have made it to the NBA are known for there defense and intangibles, I don’t think that will change with Joe. My point is Tubby had to be doing something right.

  18. The 5 Star Dribbler

Tubby could not the best out of his players.

    17) missing the point 100% ..very obvious as #18 says. crawford was heading NOWHERE and you KNEW that if you watched UK basketball at all….and yes i do mean, “at all”….obviously you didn’t pay much attention…you are comparing apples to oranges….not the same my friend. crawfords accomplishments have become possible because of one person….OUR COACH..read it..believe it, know it…or just go on believing what is false…your assumptions!

looks like the tubby lovers are frigg’n STILL a part of this forum…i’m just thankful that they are really not a part of the forum…..in other states and “masking” who they really are…lovely.

    Good for you Joe C.!

The rookie minimum is 442,000. But the Lakers could have only partially guaranteed his salary.

The best place for him is probably the Lakers D League team where he’ll be able to get PT. LA only has one active roster spot left and four guys (Karl, Mitchell, Yue, Crawford) fighting for it so he has an uphill battle from the start.
