[Moderated by Matt Jones]

Oklahoma big man Daniel Orton is in Georgia with his AAU team after a couple of stops on the All-Star tour and he’s looking to make more of a statement now that he’s playing in games again where the post is actually used. Orton’s squad features another UK target in Terrence Boyd (ranked 49th nationally) and their first game at the Peach Jam was taken in by Coach Gillispie. Orton had a tough outing and only had 2 points and 5 boards due to foul trouble. My man crush is still intact though. Boyd had 16 points and 3 rebounds.
The good news on the Orton front though is that he told HoopsReport.com that UK was still the leader for his services and he has no other “favorites” at the moment. He did list UCLA, Kansas, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma and UConn as other schools he was considering.

I think we’ll either get both Orton and Wall or we’ll miss out on both. I don’t think we’ll get one or the other.

5. It’s awesome how well that works into everyday situations. I work in a local ER and a coworker asked if i’d given any pain meds to a patient recently, and I told her that it’d been a few hours. She said “She gets it every two hours on the floor.” to which I replied “Your mom gets it every two hours on the floor.”
Ahh….to have the humor of a 12 year old…plus the idea of getting these two kids makes me extremely excited. If Patrick stays around long enough for these two then the sky would be the limit.

I feel we get Orton no matter what. I’m more and more confident about Wall, the kid has visited here three times! This could shape up to be a better class than 04. I just hope Orton is smarter than Morris.

Phili5, I just hope he has a nasty streak like Jamaal Magloire. Morris, while extremely talented, was too laid back.

10. If he was the 2nd coming of Big Cat, I’d be so happy. We haven’t had an intimidator in a while.
July 13th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
If Orton was a guard he would’ve dropped out the Rivals150 after a game with only two points.

#9 Definitely smarter than Morris and works alot harder. I’m with you I think this kid will be a CAT.
#8 People need to quit doubting Ross-Miller he will be a stud.

Boyd is not a target, mainly because there’s some questions as to whether he’ll qualify. Most think we can have him if an offer is made but he has a long way to go for eligibility.

#16 Yeah and they have K.C. Ross Miller ranked number 9 when he doesn’t even crack the top 30 at his position on RIVALS. Which I think is garbage, but nonetheless true. SO you can take most of these Rankings with a grain of salt.

16, 18. That list is a year old.

the ratings on hoopsreport.com havent been updated since 8/17/2007, so thats why ferguson was ranked so low.
