Possible Jordan Crawford destination

by @ 2:56 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

According to a story in the Detroit Free Press, Jordan Crawford has been seen playing pick-up games at the University of Detroit Mercy in his hometown. UDM’s AD downplayed the activity, as he said that any number of people could come to open gym at the school.

Sure. Whatever.

However, ex-IU center Eli Holman has already transferred to UDM. That, along with the obvious proximity to his family, could lead to a final destination for Crawford.

UDM is coached by former IU assistant Ray McCallum, who, after Sampson was fired, was the player’s choice replacement. He was also the man who recruited Crawford to IU.

That would be a stupid move. Are they even on TV? I think Dick Vitale coached them back in the day…

  2. Carolina Blue is past tense for CAROLINA BLOWS Says:

Now that is moving closer to home, unlike Jasper’s expected destination. Family is important during tough times. I wish “our” extended family member the best.

  3. RichieFarmer'sMustache Says:

If he does go there, prepare to never be heard from again.

He would be such a great fit for us–doesn’t he realize that? Hmmmm go to Detroit university and with a GREAT year make it to the 1st, 2nd rd of the tourney with almost 0 exposure in the regular season. Come here and with a GREAT year expect to be in the final 4 at least, and national exposure for the entire regular season, SEC tourney etc. for the #1 all-time program….Am I missing something here???

  5. bsquared Says:

I think this would be a great choice for him and it seems logical given the connections.

Why does everyone assume that every player in the country should or does want to play for us?

  6. RuppsRingFinger Says:

    hmmm 2+2 does = 4

  7. nybrasky Says:

Where is Beisner with “Sup Holmes?”

He and Bubba Watson are gonna smoke the ball off the tee in less than an hour. Go JB!

  8. dusty380 Says:

Well I certainly wish the kid the best wherever he choses to go…but I would certainly welcome three more seasons of seeing a Crawford in the Big Blue.

  9. terwilliger Says:

Jordan, you are too good a player to fade into obscurity at a school like Detroit. Come to UK and you will be a star.

  10. hooperstar54 Says:

if his goal is to make it to the nba then id say come to uk. i cant name too many players that went to dtroit mercy and made it to the nba.

  15. kykat51 Says:

I don’t see JC coming to Ky from what I have read here and elsewhere.

  16. UKY10 Says:

I think he’ll go to Michigan St. I can’t believe nobody else has said this. I’m not saying this because Joe almost went there. Ok well I am a little but, it might happen. Unless IU did put stipulations on him. I think it would be a good fit.

  17. flipisatrip Says:

“has said” nice good job KY edumacation
I doubt IU lets him go in conference

  18. UKY10 Says:

    17. Wow, thanks for pointing out a typing mistake. I didn’t realize we had a$$ holes on here that critique stuff like that. I can be an a$$ too. Complete your sentences! Why don’t you find something a little more productive than critiquing a typing error.

  19. HEHATEME Says:

I’ve seen a couple of the papers here in Michigan saying he is Detroit bound, but Izzo want’s a shot at him.

  20. TommyT46 Says:

Well he’s home and if he wants to work on his game, Detroit Mercy,is in his hometown, where would you expect him to go to work on his game?
