Men, hide your daughters. Bruce Pearl’s divorce was officially finalized yesterday and I’m sure he’s wasted no time employing his pressure “D” on the local ladies. Hopefully it is working better than it does in March.
Now, as someone who has been through enough divorces to field a basketball starting line-up out of the parental figures I’ve had in my life, I certainly don’t want to trivialize divorce. I just think that this provides a good explanation as to why this was ad was found in the Knoxville News-Sentinel this morning:
Single, overly fake-tanned, obnoxious 47 year-old man in Knoxville seeks young, juggy blonde at least half his age. Ideal mate will enjoy using mid-major, attention-grabbing tactics like orange sports coats and painted chests to cover up shortcomings and inadequacies of the Tennessee basketball program, and cannot be offended by the groping of sideline reporters on national television. Catspause people get mad that so many UT threads are started. UK fans on this blog are mad that Payne and I post here. Yet this offensive/private matter about the UT coach that supposedly no one cares about except UT fans is mocked here. I don’t get it.

No matter what Pearl says on Rome or anywhere else, no matter what UT did the last two years (which didn’t get past sweet 16), UT will always be behind UK in Basketball. Always. UT Men’s basketball will always be behind UT Women’s basketball. Isn’t there a tampon called Pearl? I think I saw a commercial for it

#11–I disagree with your statement of UT mens being behind UT women’s bball. Pat wanted a practice facility for years, but never got it. Pearl shows up, and viola. I’m not going to say I don’t have some UT pride with the LV, but I’ve NEVER liked them more than the men. Attendance records will show that. Lady Vol bball has high attendance because of give aways, 2 for 1, and the like. There are more men’s bball fans than ladies. I don’t care what your UT friend who only watches the ladies in March and the Football team in fall says. The men are above the ladies.
#12–so now that the blog is ‘legendary’ it doesn’t need my support? I think it says more about the blog that I CONTINUE to post here. The posters on here make it fun. I enjoy reading the site and contributing. I don’t go on and on about UT being the best or better than UK like some Vols on Catspause, but I will stand up when ridiculous posts and comments are made. And you would be wasting your time posting on the Volquest Bball board. It’s dead. All of us ‘diehards’ use Scout.

#16 well, I posed for pictures with pretty ladies and I’m not getting a divorce. He was doing it to promote maybe? I don’t know his motives. At the same time, I don’t think making light of the divorce is Kosher (he’s Jewish…ha ha). Maybe ol Buzz had a point on Costas the other night….
Also #17 I cannot disagree with that. I’ve always liked bball more than football. I’m CERTAINLY in the minority.

7- There are several stories in MSM news sources about Pearl’s divorce. Bruce Pearl has made himself a very public figure, thus this a public matter. Unfortunately, nothing is private anymore. It’s not like Beisner dug up the divorce papers on his own and broke this news.
Plus, he’s making fun of Pearl, not the demise of his marriage. Pearl’s an easy target, and he brought that upon himself w/ the photos.
Also, I love that you and Payne post here. It’s fun to have the rivals on board.

#24 is totally correct on this one. Pearl has made himself a public figure and should expect to have every aspect of his life in the papers. The law would say he has no expectation of privacy. Plus, divorces are court matters and are public record. Several lawsuits to quote here:

I never get tired of these posts about Pearl…anyone who does is crazy. I could watch him make an ass of himself all year long.
macon_volfan….never go anywhere. I think you’re funny as shit. But I do think you meant to say Emory instead of FedEx, and I do think you’re wrong about Pearl just posing with pretty girls. “Just posing” would be standing beside them for a photo. When you do a belly flop onto their laps, that’s more than just a friendly photo. I know Bruce is a 45 year old frat guy and all, but come on. This is what happens when you’re head coach is a cartoon character. Entertaining to be sure, but you gotta take the good with the bad.
And come on, people. If you really think Pat Summitt’s ‘marriage’ was ever anything but a farce, get a clue. Sh elikes men….sure she does.
