Bryan the Intern’s Picks to Click

by @ 11:00 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Yesterday, alot of people felt UK’s 129 game home court winning streak should be included in the underrated records list.  I completely agree that record does not get enough credit, but the reason I put UCLA 88-game streak ahead of that is because teams SHOULD win at home, but UCLA won at home, road, nuetral, and in NCAA tournaments.  Right now BYU holds the nation’s longest home court winning streak at 47.  And I am not worried that BYU will even sniff UK’s record, but a mid-major school who is dominant (Gonzaga for instance) could hypothetically approach it because they only play bad teams at home and the good teams they play on neutral courts.  But, if the list yesterday had stretched to 5 records, UK’s may have been on there.

Limited links today:

1. A look at UK’s recent success or lack thereof with junior college transfers

2. By now, everybody has seen the Kobe Bryant jumping over the car video.  And if you didn’t know, which would make you an idiot, it’s a fake.  But, now the video of Kobe just jumping has come out, and it contains some interesting things on how exactly this faux video was done

3. Here now is your Allison Stokke photo gallery.

4. Congrats to Larue County’s Aaron Mayfield, who pitched two consecutive perfect games while at his team’s Spring Break tournament in Fort Walton Beach.  The problem, Mayfield did it against two KY teams, Heath and Corbin.  What the hell did you travel to Florida for when you could whip two KY teams here.  Oh yeah, the warm weather and naked chicks.  Nevermind.

The faux video part was great. Hahhahah.

  3. bluemeaway Says:

That Allison Stokke photo gallery made my morning

  4. GoCatsLonelyolWife Says:

    1) Good for you. I knew you could be #1 in something. lol!

  5. goukcatsgo Says:

The sea of blue guys will do anything to make BCG look bad. They keep pouring fuel on the fire of him going to OSU.

But the funny thing is, they said, “OSU may want a more proven coach”.

  6. payne Says:

You would have to go undefeated at home for over 8 years running to beat UK’s record. I think it is as likely as going two plus years without a loss to beat UCLA’s record, it’s not gonna happen.

Although, the Vols are currently sitting at 32 straight wins at home. Only six more years needed to break the record.

  7. kc4enics Says:

Thanks Bryan, for the Stokke photo gallery link, it really gets me Stokked up!!!

  8. bigshaun Says:

Well if Billy G. doesn’t come out like Self did over the job & Ford about the LSU job than he’s obviously interested in hearing from them. This does nothing, but hurt recruiting and he knows that and still hasn’t come out and said directly that he’s not interested in the job. He said on the radio that he loves it here and wants to stay here, but all coaches say that junk. I Hope he stays.

  9. Azubuikebicep Says:

I didn’t realize Antwan Barbour’s numbers were so horrible. He had so much potential that just never materialized.
After watching both he and Chris Lofton in the Ky. Sweet Sixteen, its really hard to imagine that Lofton would have the better career.

  10. GoCatsLonelyolWife Says:

    8) Are you skipping school today? lol! lol!

  11. GoCatsLonelyolWife Says:

BCG is not going anywhere. Period! We need to let this die.

  12. GoCatsLonelyolWife Says:

bigshaun are you skipping school. Nexyt year in hi school you better not do that!

  13. kc4enics Says:

I agree that it would be better if he came out and said, “I would like my name to be withdrawn from the OSU
head coaching job, because I have no interest in it.” It would be great if he said that but heck this is
2008, he could be on his cell phone telling a reporter that and be catching a plane to OSU. I don’t believe a word any coach says. Pitno said he would stay, Tubster said he would stay, Roy Williams told KU he would stay, I could go on and on…I won’t believe CBC is still here until I see him on the bench next Nov.

  14. goukcatsgo Says:

#9- Tubby had a way of making great talents seem average…

  15. KYERIC Says:

    Hey Bryan…

    Nice link for Allison…whhhewww.

Pretty interesting that Chuck Hayes is also listed as #1 on the site for the Ugliest Free Throw. I don’t know what happened, but maybe he hooked up with Wayne Turner to get some lessons?

  16. bigshaun Says:

    #11,12 shove it

  17. benherewaiting Says:

How do we know for sure that OSU has contacted Billy G? Why would you say your not interested if you had never been contacted. Did we all think badly of Rick Barnes when he said he was not interested in Kentucky when we had never ever contacted him? Coach is not going anywhere, he sure does not want to get the Bobby Petrino comparisons.

  18. bruin923 Says:

Tubby never let Antwan get comfortable he would get in hit a couple of shots then make a mistake and come out and not go back in
until the second half. He tried not to make a mistake instead of just playing, which after seeing him play on several different levels
he has proven everywhere other then UK that he can play.

  19. kc4enics Says:

#17 I don’t know, but do I know that Travis Ford was contacted by LSU. No I don’t but he said
“I would like to make clear that I do not want to be considered for the head job at LSU,” Ford said in a statement released Tuesday night by UMass. “There has been a lot of misinformation circulating about me and the job at LSU. I feel that it is necessary to state that I do not want to be considered for the job.”

Was he contacted by LSU? Who knows but he said he wanted to clear misinformation. So take it for what its worth

  20. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

18.) as in …… the WBA???

  21. j-mo Says:

18 and others Barbour couldn’t go left at UK, defenders would give him the baseline and he’d never take it. His only good games were when his jumper was falling, and I bet he hade a low 3 point %.

  22. j-mo Says:

plus the team was too deep for Barbour to get a chance… Fitch and Kelenna were coming off the bench. the “02 team was 27-3, it’s his fault he was a JUCO bust.

  23. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

    Ditto

  24. TheDancingOutlaw Says:

The notion that Tubby “ruined” players by pulling them out when they made mistakes is laughable…unless you feel the same way about Gillispie, because BCG has the quickest hook I have ever seen. I think he actually pulled A.J. once this year before he even checked in…supposedly because he didn’t get his warmup off quick enough!

  25. bigshaun Says:

#24 actually TUBBY ruined players just by having them listen to his coaching.

  26. j-mo Says:

24, really?… that’s hilarious, but so believable (lol).

  27. Azubuikebicep Says:

If you remember, Tubby was super quick to yank a player out of the game. It is hard to play with a coach like that. In fact, I think that is why Bradley became so clutch this year. BCG let him make mistakes without yanking him, so he was more relaxed.
Its too early to tell if BCG has a quick hook: 1) A.J. is anomaly b/c he was in dog house all year 2)BCG didn’t have enough guys on the bench to start yanking people out

  28. cat1 Says:

nothing new tubby was x’s and o’s and not a player developer. Why do you all think the nba is always calling?

  29. rondodo Says:

i love it haha i found this link on the allison stoke page

    good ole chuck!
    http://www.mychillpill.net/2008/03/top-7-worst-free-throw-forms/

  30. lexslamman Says:

OMG, how can anyone have such a horrible shot as chuck hayes..OM FRIGGN GOD!!
that is undamn believable! beyond laughable..embarrassing times infinity!

  31. j-mo Says:

I just got to see chucks shot… what happened. He used to be about a 70% shooter in college didn’t he. he was good for the old fashioned 3, I thought. I know his shot didn’t look like that before.

  32. j-mo Says:

a career 73% shooter at UK, he needs to go back to the old form.

  33. Clandestine Says:

bigshaun is a fool and a black eye on all real fans.

  34. TheDancingOutlaw Says:

I disagree, #27. Good players who get pulled for making mistakes will use it as motivation to not make mistakes. Those that don’t are weak and have no business playing college basketball at the University of Kentucky. This is not a 6 year old league game at the YMCA, for crissakes…

BCG rides these guys harder than Tubby ever dreamed of. The way he berated Ramon and Derrick in some of those games down the stretch made the Tubby stare look like puppy dog eyes. Seriously, quick hooks and hard ass coaches are the best tactics to get guys to play the way they are supposed to play.

  35. Msb769 Says:

Well I just moved from Ft. Walton beach…there not to many naked girls there, but it can be good times during spring break though and in the summer. If you want to see the high school(lol)/ college chicks getting naked then you have to drive the hour east to Panama city beach.
