Bryan the Intern’s Picks to Click

by @ 10:51 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Disclaimer: I assumed this would go without saying, but it appears that I have to make it known.  This is a daily blog post with the greatest links I kind find about UK Sports/Funny Crap.  I am CLEARLY not taking credit for making the videos or writing the articles that I link.  THEY ARE LINKS.  So, please stop telling me that I am plagirizing.  These websites only care about getting hits, and that is what I am giving them.

Just a question that I would be interested hearing everyone’s opinion on: Let’s say you knew if UK loses to Georgia tonight, they would be given a 12 seed, thus making it an easier run to the Sweet 16.  But, if they win, they would get a 10 or better, likely sewing up a second round exit.  Would you rather the Cats get the worse seed but lose to Georgia, or beat the Dawgs and take their chances against a 1 or 2 seed?  Discuss.

1. As Matt reported yesterday and the Courier-Journal confirms today, Billy Gillispie and his staff were very busy last night in Atlanta.

2. The freedom that Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford have recieved to create their own shot is one of the key reasons for the turnaround this season, as the Herald-Leader discusses.  Another reason: Mary Coury Starting!!!  I don’t know if they keep this stat, but since SEC Play started, has Coury won a single opening tip?

3. What in the hell is wrong with Jay Bilas?  He continues to compare whatever Big East bubble team in playing to Kentucky, and then claiming that team should get in over the Cats.  I can get past the fact that Bilas is just flat out wrong, especially about Villanova , but why continually bring up UK over and over again?  There is something really strange about all of this that, he won’t budge on his opinion.

4. Updates of some of the major mock brackets out there, ESPN.com has the Cats as a 9 seed playing Kansas State (i think a good matchup despite Michael Beasley), cbssportsline.com has UK as a 10 seed playing Pittsburgh, and most interesting is CNNSI.com which has the Cats in a group of 24 teams playing for 12 at-large spots.  Right now the Cats are in, but I truly think a Georgia loss makes it a very nervous Sunday.

5. Absolutely the greatest greatest news reporter/funny video EVER.  Makes me want to move to Canada.

6. This is why the Spurs will never be considered a great dynasty is because of crap like this.  Read the bloggers comments about the incident and you get an understanding of how I feel about San Antonio.  He uses words I can’t on this blog.  Boston and LA of the 1980’s were likeable teams, as were Chicago of the 90’s and the Lakers of the early part of this decade.  The Spurs are sooooooo unlikeable, I will never give them the credit they probably deserve, a mini-dynasty.

Your link for the “greatest” video is not working.

  2. njcatfan25 Says:

I would prefer a win over Georgia tonight regardless of seeding. That loss would not look good if people are considering us to still be a bubble team. If Kentucky can win the SEC tourny I see no reason they couldn’t jump up to 6 seed. Let’s just keep winning and secure a spot in the tournament. If you want to keep playing you’ll have to beat a 1 or 2 eventually…lets just hope for a favorable first round match-up.

  3. deWildcats Says:

Beat UG - and move on - if it means an early exit in the NCAA to a 1 or 2 seed, so be it.
But winning begets winning, a great time to start a win streak.

  4. Marshall in Virginia Says:

Coury hasn’t gotten a tip since birth

  5. Drewdown N ChiTown Says:

You do realize you just said that video makes you want to move to Canada, right?

  6. shmu evans Says:

Ignore the haters BTI. Picks to click is the kill!!!

  8. Splat Jones Says:

If we played Kansas St I’d like to see Ramon’s Razor Defense guarding Michael Beasley. Seriously… if he gets beat to the basket, he’ll have Beasley compromised enough that Perry Stevenson will have a swatfest. That would be the 1 2 punch.

It’s not like Beasley would drive and dish anyway, who’s he gonna pass it to?

I don’t think Jay Bilas is even a discussion anymore. He’s got a lump in his throat now and it resembles the Duke initiation gulp.

  9. jacobk Says:

i dont think that ramon and perry could handle it if both beasley and walker get hot, especially if it is a fast paced game.

  10. Mr. Bentley Says:

I dont think anyone is mad at you for stealing links but for acting like you found everything without going to similar link- of- the- day type sites. Granted I have already seen most of what you post on several sites around the sports blogosphere so it might be difficult to credit one source but most sites give the benefit of a “hat tip” or “via”.
secondly, the spurs are not considered a dynasty only because they never won back- to- back, not because Bruce Bowen is a douche. Anyone that knows anything about the NBA respects what San Antonio has done since drafting Duncan in 97

  11. Bryan the Intern Says:

YOU ALL CAN NOW SEE THE FUNNY REPORTER VIDEO, SORRY ABOUT THE MISHAP, I HADN’T REALIZED YOUTUBE HAD PULLED IT OFF ITS WEBSITE, BUT WITH LEATHER STILL IS AIRING IT, A MUST WATCH!!

  12. larry the cable guy Says:

The only tip Coury ever got was “Don’t eat yellow snow”!!!!

  13. Bryan the Intern Says:

    10) I disagree about the Spurs, I think winning 4 titles in 7 years (fact check?) is a great feat, but they don’t get the same respect because they are an unlikebale bunch of guys, who have a arrogance and sometimes play dirty, I don’t think it has anything to do with back to back, again I could be wrong but I dont think the Celtics ever won back-to-back in the 1980’s

  14. Ben Ray Says:

Seeding implications aside, you want to beat Jo-Ja tonight; it sews up the bid, and–let me get my Herm Edwards on– YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!
Besides, I’ll take our matchup against any 1 seed but Memphis. Which is of course where ESPN has us.

  15. Splat Jones Says:

#9 jacobk - Kansas St. is a one man show. Beasley and Walker are freshman, and even though Beasley doesn’t act like one, Walker does all too often as he’s very inconsistent.

Also, name the last team Kentucky let run a face paced game against us. UT and Florida tried, but the Billy G. tempo control has been in full effect ever since he got these Cats on the same page. If we play K St, they don’t turn anything in to a fast paced game.

Please remember, I didn’t mention our 2 senior guards that I think can more than do their part of showing a young punk (Walker) what it’s like to earn wins.

Oh, and need I say Coury Flurry? Thats what I thought. Who are you, Jay Bilas?

I would love to play Kansas St.

  16. topps06 Says:

people actually complained and said that you were plagiarizing? Wow is all that i can say.

  17. mumbler Says:

16- I agree. Get a fawking life, people. These links may be from other sites, but damn if I’d know it b/c I don’t cruise other sites.

Haters go get laid and eat a samich.

    Roll on, Bryan.

  18. ukbandman Says:

would rather see Cats beat Ga. and win the SEC tourney if possible. No way we will make final four this year but would love for Bradley and Crawford to be able to point to a banner showing a championship in Atlanta this weekend. If that makes for a tougher NCAA tourney draw, so be it.

  19. truBLU Says:

Speaking of GA–”They ARE who we THOUGHT they were” the last 2 times we beat them…..why should tonight be any different? I hope we don’t “LET EM OFF THE HOOK”

  20. jacobk Says:

Splat Jones, calm down man, just pointing out some match up problems that the cats WILL have if we play k state. obv i know that BCG has been great at controlling the tempo, but if he cant then we will have problems against k state. that said, i think we would have a much better shot at beating k state than pitt, so hopefully we can get that higher seed.

  21. bald knob Says:

Hey Bryan! So where’s your link to a preview of the UK v Ole Miss game tonight?? Oh, that’s right. They didn’t beat Georgia last night after you had already cut and pasted them into the next round. I replied to your last Clicks to Pick and tried to give you a chance to back away from that silly guarantee, but you didn’t say anything. Just wanted to remind you how dumb you look after Georgia won last night. Have a good weekend! : )

I’m just giving you a hard time, btw… Don’t take it personally.

  22. nybrasky Says:

Yeah, ideally we win the Tournament. I won’t feel fully comfortable about not being on the bubble unless we beat UGA tonight. Remember, all the media is doing is speculating. While I don’t think the selection committee would keep us out at this point, you never know.

We can’t worry about seeding. Just get an invite and handle business one game at a time from there. As for KSt, I’d rather someone else take care of them, but if the challenge presents itself, bring it on.

  23. TimPRP Says:

“If you wanna crown their a$$e$ then crown em!”

  24. Bryan the Intern Says:

I honestly have no idea what you are talking about, I did think Ole Miss would win but I dont remember making a point of it yesterday or any other day, you may be thinking of “the intern” who also posts on this blog because you have caught me completly off guard on that one

  25. RyanInLondon Says:

F losing. i dont care about the seeding really.

  26. mumbler Says:

I just want to say thank goodness for the picks to click articles here at KSR. Otherwise, the posters on TCP would have no material to post.

  27. UKCatFan01ABC Says:

Is anyone else sick of hearing Mary Jo Perino refer to the squad as “Team Turn Around”? What kind of nickname is that??? Let’s just not have a nickname.

  28. mumbler Says:

Only one I’ve heard that I even remotely like is the “Bounce-back Cats.”

  29. UKCatFan01ABC Says:

I think good nicknames are spontaneous. When you have to think about, you get stuff like,
    Team Turnaround.

  30. gorbe ye abi Says:

I think about half of the people who read this site are retarded. Linking is now plagiarizing? M O R O N S ! ! !

  31. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

DIE HARD KENTUCKY FAN …… that being said if we lose to UGA we are out

  32. AJStewarts splinter Says:

yeah, we can’t lose, it would look VERY bad. They are a sub .500 team with 7 scholly players coming off a 2OT game. It’s just not acceptable, and the committee should kill us if it happened.

Plus it’d be nice to get closer to 20 wins… didn’t think it was poss a few months ago.

  33. mumbler Says:

^ Just one OT last night.

  34. Marshall in Virginia Says:

ESPN seems to think we are not a lock so if we beat Georgia does that change things or do we have to go further?
