    Good post.

  2. deWildcats Says:

Will Kevin Galloway be a junior?

  3. MEWH Says:

    Funny items

PGs that will struggle: Scottie Reynolds Vill, and Augustine from Texas
PFs that will struggle: Harangody ND

  4. macon_volfan Says:

TOP SHOOTING GUARD SLEEPERS–Cameron Tatum, Undecided—-make that Tennessee (at least we have some representation on the list)

  5. MEWH Says:

    2) yes. junior pg/sf

  6. ibleedblue186 Says:

I think it’s funny that this article says DJ Augustine would struggle. Couldn’t have been more wrong.

  7. nybrasky Says:

Interesting to see. I’m excited about Galloway. CoachD on KyInk is a former D1 coach who’s pretty plugged in to the Juco circuit says great things about him.

    Thanks for re-posting this, Matt.

  8. clifford hawkins Says:

I think Galloway is a great team addition. Its about time USC paid us back for Rodrick Rhodes…

  9. gatoferoz Says:

we happily gave them rhodes, and they got a good player

  10. UKCatFan01ABC Says:

This is off topic, but here’s an article on si.com about Perry,

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/basketball/ncaa/wires/03/11/2060 .ap.bkc.kentucky.perry.s.progress.0644/index.html

  11. Yesterdays Says:

Looks like that site was shooting about 50%. Probably not too good considering there were alot of obvious calls on there like tabbing Durant as an NBA prospect and completely missing the boat on Reynolds and Augustine, arguably two of the best in the nation.

Sounds like Galloway is obviously a good athlete at the very least

  12. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

Dont want to boast but…… I WOULD BE THE AVID READER ……… hahaha but still I thought it was very interesting on how accurate a lot of this was, eventhough he missed on a few.

  13. supadave Says:

    Harangody struggles…haha

  14. deWildcats Says:

    Bat Cats lead 4 - 3

  15. nybrasky Says:

Good article on Stevenson. Written by the AP, so it might get picked up a lot of places. Good for him. He seems to provide the most entertaining sound bites too. Now just keep it up, Perry.

  16. bcgobsession Says:

Did anyone else notice the indirect insult that Donovan gave to Perry? He just can’t accept defeat gracefully. What an F’ing jacka$$. He should have left it at “He was terrific, he was energized and he made great plays.”

“Florida coach Billy Donovan couldn’t help but notice.

“He was terrific, he was energized and he made great plays, but I’m not sure how much resistance we provided,” Donovan said.”

  17. LeBowlingAlley Says:

I can’t believe people haven’t made a bigger deal about Calathes. In his post game he appeared to degrade Perry by calling him the the tall/lanky/skinny guy, as opposed to using his name. He also referred to Jasper as ‘Casper’ which would definitely qualify as potentially being a racist remark.

  18. MEWH Says:

16)He whined his way through the post game comments. It’s your team douche! If they didn’t play ‘D’ it’s your fault. Like the lucky shots comments, luck comes into every game. Like Jai Lucas getting fouled by Meeks at the end of the game at UF, even though Meeks was 5 feet away from him. Yes, Perry weighs as much as me at 5′10″, but stop him or shut up!

  19. MuhlenberCountyCAT Says:

Billy G is going to take us to the top and make that Punk Ass 40 year old who looks like a teenager with a big upper body wish he had taken the job. I hope GIllispie makes fun of him even more on national TV. Seriously though how big of a puss do you have to be to not want the challenge that Kentucky poses a coach. Donovan and Calathes look like Father/Son. Donovan Sucks, The Gators Suck, and Donovans Wife and Children can blow me.

  20. Beezner Says:

Florida has always been a pretty class-less program. From all the chest-beating of Noah and the Gator-chomping of Lee and all the jersey popping, it’s pretty obvious that Donovan let’s his guys do pretty much whatever they like as long as it’s within the law.

He’s perfect for the state of Florida.

  21. Clandestine Says:

#16. I didn’t take it that way. Basically he was saying his team didn’t play very well. No need to freak.

  22. nybrasky Says:

Just be glad that’s not our team’s mentality and never will be under BCG. They don’t make excuses or try and take anything away from a team that beat them fair and square. We suffered some tough losses and bad calls this year, but not once did our team mope about them or make disrespectful comments about the other team. Let the Gaytors get back to being douches and losers while we rise to the top with hard work and class.

  23. deWildcats Says:

    Bat Cats lead 12 - 4
    Bottom of the 5th

  24. BigJHagan Says:

I learned a lot about Florida fans while at the game Sunday. Some of them actually had the nerve to talk trash at the beginning of the game, then when they went down, started complaining about the foul calls going against them as the reason. It was quite amusing, I think they must have forgotten that the team they have had the last 2 years, wasn’t there anymore!

  25. Matt Jones Says:

I was at that press conference and Billy wasnt at all downgrading Perry. I thought he was a bit over the top in talking about the luck on some of the shots at the end, but he praised the UK players one after the other. That Perry comment was more just concerning his frustration with his team’s lack of interior defense

  26. Azubuikebicep Says:

Calathes surely knew Jasper’s name he was just being an ass. Even in high school basketball, you learn the name of the players on the other team from the scouting report.
He is well on his way to joining Noah and Walsh as the most hated Gators.

  27. catfan7x Says:

I will not take away anything from Donovan’s coaching ability or Calathes’ playing ability.
They are both pretty good at what they do.

What I will say is that Calathes is a whiner of the first order and Donovan allows his players to act like jackasses. Noah was to the SEC what syphilis is to good health.

Every year Donovan has a complete chode on his team; from Walsh, to Noah, and now, Darling Nicky. Doesn’t it make you glad that he really didn’t want to come to Lexington and now we are stuck with real ballers like Patterson, Miller, and Meeks?
I would call that a near miss for the program and the state.
    Keep it up, Coach Clyde!!
We want a coach who wants to be here.

  28. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

Yeh I agree with Matt that the Billy comments are being taken out of context, but as for Calathes that is inexcusable, and I would like to somehow someway post the Casper comment all over the internet, b/c it comes off a bit racist to me as well. As for the Stevenson comment, he was just showing plain disrespect…….Donovan should def. have him issue an apology.

  29. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

Im sorry lemme clear that up ^ That is Billy Donovan, not Billy Clyde

  30. Azubuikebicep Says:

    24) I agree Gator fans are ridiculous. I took my girlfriend to the game on Sunday. Before the game, her main concerns were seeing Smooth’s mom and hopefully Ashley Judd.

However, she left with an extreme disdain for all things Florida. I attribute this shift to the incredibly obnoxious Gator fans setting around us. It would be difficult for any objective person not to root against such a sorry bunch.

  31. LeBowlingAlley Says:

In an effort to expose Calathes as a closet racist, all should digg: http://digg.com/basketball/Florida_Gator_guard_Nick_Calathes_spews_rac ist_remark

  32. claywhitenack Says:

Calathes was mad at Jasper for the retaliation foul he put on him in the second half. I don’t know if they showed it on TV, but Calathes and Bradley got into it. A little extra pushing and shoving, a little extra jawing during a dead ball. Next possession, Calethes gets a steal, a fast break, and Jasper comes in and nails him.

No question in my mind that “Casper” was intentional.

  33. claywhitenack Says:

Is “casper” a racist comment, though? I haven’t ever heard of that.

  34. LeBowlingAlley Says:

Would you call a relatively light-skinned African-American “Casper” without trying to imply something? I mean, Calathes may not be a racist in a sense that he hates African Americans, but any time you use a person’s race in an derogatory manner, it’s pretty uncalled for.

  35. claywhitenack Says:

34 - I don’t know. I might think calling a really pale white kid “casper” as being racist, as if Japer had called Calethes that (speaking of pale white kids), but I don’t know that the “casper” comment was necessarily because Jasper is light skinned. There’s no way to know what Calathes was thinking, so I am not going to argue it, but I took it as a play on “Jasper”.

  36. franktownfan Says:

i hadn’t thought about calathes remark of “casper” as racist, but now that you have brought that up i could
i thought he was trying to play off the name of jasper i.e. casper, but i think you could make a case for that
being what he meant. however, i doubt this will ever be fully resolved.

  37. MuhlenberCountyCAT Says:

    Matt Jones,

What made you think or know that Kevin Galloway would be a big time NBA prospect out of the class of 2006? I looked at Rival and he wasn’t in the top 150 in the 2006 class.

  38. pdiggs Says:

hey they are giving you crap about dj agustine and harangody but you had stephen curry on your sleeper guards and I think that was a badass call on that.

  39. UKCatsWin8 Says:

Muhlenburg - the post says that list came from “Basketball Today”, not Matt Jones.

  40. K-NOTH Says:

i need a consensus…is Galloway a good get? i guess if not we only have him for 2 years.
