[Moderated by Matt Jones]

So today was an exciting one in UK land as DeAndre Liggins, the #18 ranked player in America by Rivals.com and the #26 player by Scout.com committed to the University of Kentucky. It was a big get by Coach Billy Gillispie and was proof once again of his amazing recruiting prowess. At this point, Gillispie has been on the job for a little over two months and has brought in 5 recruits that were Top 40 guys in their class. Liggins followed the lead of Alex Legion, by visiting on campus and then realizing that Kentucky was the place he wanted to be, even in the process shunning Memphis, which had long been thought to be his leader. To give you an idea of how much ground Kentucky made up, when I spoke with Liggins at the Tournament of Champions, he mentioned Kentucky to me fifth on his list of schools and almost even forgot to mention them at all saying, “and oh yeah, Kentucky too.” A month later, he is a Cat.
Liggins is a versatile player that is unlike virtually anyone else in the class. He is 6′6″, but a ball handler….more of a classic point forward, a la Scottie Pippen. He can bring the ball up and set up for his other teammates (thus able to play point) and this is how he is generally used in high school. Liggins believes that he will come in and replace Ramel Bradley, and he may very well do that. However he also has the ability to step out and play the wing, and he (like Derrick Jasper) can be a great big guard in a potential four guard lineup. He is a top-notch defender and penetrator who has no problem getting to the basket. He is not however a great shooter and it will be this skill that will be interesting to watch as the year develops. He compliments Alex Legion very well and the two of them have UK set for some time in the future at the wing position.
Is there any downside. Well not really, although I do admit that Liggins was not my favorite player in the class. I am not a huge fan of guys who struggle with their shot as I generally believe that a player never really “develops” a jump shot, and their natural instincts by this point in their career tend to be their base skills as they go onto college. However Liggins is not a bad shooter, so if it improves at all, he could be a dominant player. In addition, I admit to being enamored with Willie Warren, Rotnei Clarke and Darius Miller….and at this point, it is hard to forsee a scenario where all three will be on UK’s roster. Liggins however is an AAU teammate of Tyler Zeller and that connection cant hurt in trying to get the big guy on campus.
All in all, a great pickup for the Cats and another testament to Billy Clyde as a recruiter. Today we talked about Liggins on the Sports Mob and the link below is some audio of our conversation with Marc Maggard about Liggins and other UK targets. In addition, we talk the news of the day, and even a little wrestling. Listen up. The videos below are also of Liggins (#34 in most games) and you can see his game for yourself. Leonard Washington joins the Mob today at 6 pm, so be ready for that. And look for more news throughout the day……

June 28th, 2007 at 12:15 am
I just resoiled my diaper…but not with the same substance as usual.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:16 am
link doesnt work
June 28th, 2007 at 12:18 am
Derrick Rose anyone?
June 28th, 2007 at 12:27 am
yeah, he’s a perfect pickup.. anyone who would ever doubt it can suck it…
June 28th, 2007 at 12:29 am
looks like Liggins has GREAT court vision..unselfish player, doesn’t have a great outside shot, but if left open can knock down a shot..looks like he has a very high B-ball IQ
June 28th, 2007 at 12:32 am
Liggins looks tough, great playmaker. Also though, Derrick Rose…..WOW! thats a name you’ll be hearing as a lottery pick in a couple years.

Liggins Makes His College Choice
June 27, 2007
5:30 P.M. CST
Let’s make one thing abundantly clear right off the bat–contrary to what others want to believe, up until the end of this past weekend there was no clear cut leader in the DeAndre Liggins recruiting sweepstakes. However, that changed after Liggins completed a visit to the University of Kentucky. As a result, Liggins has verbally committed to Billy Gillispie and the Wildcats. Liggins chose Kentucky over Kansas, Memphis and Illinois.
There is absolutely no question that Liggins’ weekend visit to Lexington is what sealed the deal. Liggins was completely wowed by the aura and mystique that surrounds basketball at Kentucky and immediately knew that is where he wanted to play his college basketball. Simply put, he felt a strong connection with coach Gillispie, the players and the entire Kentucky basketball environment.
In addition to proving how recruiting decisions can be made spontaneously almost in the blink of an eye, perhaps the most significant thing about Liggins’ decision is that it shows that shoe company affiliation is not always the end all. We say this because as most everyone knows, Liggins plays for one of the most high-profile Adidas sponsored AAU programs in the country in Indiana Elite. However, Kentucky’s basketball program is and has been long affiliated with NIKE.
With that being said, what this shows above everything else is what a tremendous recruiter Billy Gillispie really is. Not only that, but Gillispie is hardly done when it comes to recruiting the state of Illinois. In fact, he currently has the Wildcats very much in the thick of the things with respect to two other prized recruits in the 2008 class from Illinois–6′9 Michael Dunigan from Farragut Career Academy in Chicago and 6′5 Matt Humphrey from Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago, who both play on the Mean Streets 17-under AAU team. As a result, rumors of a possible “package deal” involving Dunigan and Humphrey have begun to resurface.
In our minds, Liggins personifies a Gillispie type of recruit, as he is an athletic, versatile wing player who has size, is multi-dimensional and therefore able to play at least three positions on the floor.
In addition to choosing Kentucky, Liggins made another significant decision today when he also announced that he will be leaving Washington High School in Chicago to attend Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH next season. Liggins will still be classified as a 2008 recruit.
Continue to check in with Illinois Prep Bulls-eye for all of the latest as it pertains to recruiting and high school basketball in Illinois.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:38 am
And oh yeah,Kentucky too.Well pretty soon Kentucky will be the first to be mentioned among the elite recruits. But the days of getting guys(no offense) like Carrier,Stockton,Sheray etc..are over.Oh Ricky was right,it set Kentucky back 15 years!!How about catapulted it 5 years.I’m a pepper he’s a pepper…you know the rest!!!God bless The Commonwealth.Good job Matt Jones!!Now if you guys would answer your phone lines everything in the universe would be right.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:40 am
Wow, Liggins is quick, and he reminds me of LeBron with his quickness up the court with the ball and his court vision and passing.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:42 am
I also saw Liggins hit about 4 3’s at least in the first clip and I think that was in one game. Not sure though. But it looks like he can shoot pretty well to me.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:43 am
The sad thing is he could have had all this and more, he could have been John Wooden-esque
June 28th, 2007 at 12:44 am
Pitino
June 28th, 2007 at 12:48 am
Jones, you worm. You thought Smith was the man for the job. What have you to say now? It’s clear Smith was inept. Have you ever admitted that?
June 28th, 2007 at 12:51 am
Good point #15.
And by the way, I want Willie Warren real bad….I love the kid.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:55 am
We may be “Zeller” away from an NC.
We have to have a big man and soon.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:02 am
I can imagine Dickie V now trying to get back on UK’s side now next season……..”Patterson is a Diaper Dandy, baby! Legion, NBA, NOthing but nylon!” I can’t stand Vitale’s voice, and I used to like him, but not anymore after he bashed us “wacky” Uk fans.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:26 am
i love liggins’ ability to create and his rebounding skills are mad! i’m really starting to get excited about basketball again, GO BIG BLUE!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 1:30 am
Anyone know what new high school he is going too? Heard he was switching but didnt know where…
June 28th, 2007 at 1:41 am
#20 somewhere in N.H.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:43 am
Think we might be seeing this scenario a lot in the coming years….Liggins driving the paint and kicking it to Legion or Meeks for an outside shot or dumping the ball to Patterson or Washington for a dunk.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:43 am
now players are coming in like there suppose to….im tubby bitch
June 28th, 2007 at 1:58 am
Washington will be on sports mob. With all the poeple that have been on as of late.He may very well commit over the MOB Radio. That would be awesome. They sure know how to get UK recruits on the radio.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:59 am
I can forgive some mediocre shooting, if he’s able to penetrate, ditch, and push the ball like that without turnovers. Very nice videos.
June 28th, 2007 at 2:02 am
#20) Read #9’s post-it’s very informative about Liggins. He’s going to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH.
June 28th, 2007 at 6:37 am
We need a big man!
June 28th, 2007 at 6:56 am
#9) Almost made me tear up when I read that…(like the good ol’ days)
June 28th, 2007 at 7:12 am
The official drink of the Kentucky Wildcat fans and the team should now be without question DOCTOR PEPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I thought K and Williams and Calipari could recruit! Move over little dogs big dog has come on the porch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 7:45 am
It is absolutely amazing to me how quickly the recruiting has improved
with the new coaching staff.
Was the previous staff just the dang lazy not to go for the best players?
June 28th, 2007 at 7:59 am
UK signed the #1 C - #1 SG - #1 PG - and #1 prep school G in 2004 as part of the overall #1 class.
UK signed the #1 JuCo foward in 2005 over runner-up Texas A&M coached by Billy Gillispie.
UK signed 3 Top 50 rated players in 2006. The best G in Georgia. The best HS shotblocker ever. And best PG in California.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:12 am
31 - all of your rankings are inflated. I understand the point you’re trying to make, but be
honest with yourself. Rondo wasn’t rated higher than Telfair. Morris wasn’t rated higher than
Dwight Howard. Bradley was listed as a top-100 guy, and I’m not convinced that Stevenson was
actually ever rated the best shot blocker in the history of HS Basketball. I do agree with what
you’re implying though. Gillispie has done an outstanding job, and there has probably never been a
UK coach who has been this celebrated before coaching his first game. It will be interesting to see
what these guys actually do on the court (and what Billy G does on the sideline).
June 28th, 2007 at 8:19 am
Please ask Washington about the episode where he refused to go back into the game. Would like to know the scoop on that. We don’t need head cases here.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:29 am
Can anyone tell me how long Andy Katz has had a man crush on Donovan?
June 28th, 2007 at 8:31 am
#31 your point is well taken. that accounts for 3 years out of what 10? 1/3 batting average?
this is not baseball. could some of that been helped by the UK mystique and tradition?
June 28th, 2007 at 8:38 am
all i know is that when i was watching the UK-KU game this past NCAA tourney,
the announcer said that you can really tell the difference in talent level and that
UK was not close to KU. this really brought the point home for me.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:56 am
Who was the coach of Liggins team in the Trust Choice Tour? Is Hayes, #4 on that team signed with anyone. He was quick, strong, and seemed to know where to be, how to get the ball and get his shot even in a crowd.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:04 am
33.
If Gillispie didn’t think he could discipline and manage ‘head cases’ then he wouldn’t offer ‘head cases’. Chill out, nobody crapped in your cheerios.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:15 am
AlexLegion, so, if recruiting is not the problem then Tubby’s coaching was the problem. I believe that is what you are saying. Tubby is gone …. please quit ragging on him ….. he’s a good man and does not deserve that ….
June 28th, 2007 at 9:17 am
31) For every Rondo & Morris there were 3 Stockton’s and Carrier. Also, look how all the highly touted recruits for Tubby helped(?) the program win a NC.
–Go ahead & give Billy G the key to the city, b/c he is going to own LexVegas after it is all siad and done.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:19 am
I am a DR. Pepper man! Liggins has been to the top
of the mountain and he saw paradise!
June 28th, 2007 at 9:21 am
No doubt, Tubby had some decent recruits towards the end…when he was feeling the pressure. With that being said, the Kansas game was a freaking joke. I realize that we haven’t seen the first game that Billy G has coached, but it doesn’t matter b/c there is so much excitement around the program again! I honestly don’t feel like we will be that overmatched again anytime soon.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:24 am
Oh yeah by the way…there are two phrases that I am growing sick of and quickly. Done deal and good/great get. It is the only thing that I hate about recruiting…the stupid catch phrases like these that pop up. Anyway great coverage Matt and Marc!
June 28th, 2007 at 9:28 am
Go Billy go.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:28 am
This is starting to feel like taking candy from babies!!
June 28th, 2007 at 9:31 am
THERE IS STILL ROOM FOR DARIUS MILLER, BUT PITINO HAS BEEN SPOTTED AGAIN IN THE MEAN STREETS OF MAYSVILLE…………..
June 28th, 2007 at 9:32 am
I think I can deal with weak shooting if he plays like that for us.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:40 am
I very much doubt we will see the scenario of signing a Morris and then follow that up with an Adam Williams under the BCG regime. The plow and his staff were flat out lazy recruiters.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:45 am
True or False:
1. Tubby was a better recruiter than BCG. False
2. Todd Zeigler was the best at stealing razor blades to shave with. True
3. Coach Gillispie schedules 1 hour of sleep per month. True
4. Minnesota fans will get a “chubby for Tubby”. False
5. Dwight Perry will earn the name on his jersey before his career at UK is up. True
June 28th, 2007 at 9:46 am
Miller is a Cat if he wants to be. Liggins compliments Clarke’s game and vice versa.
CBC knows he needs a pure shooter. Think 6′0″ Louie Dampier who played with
a 6′5″ PG. I suspect that Czyz and Zeller round out the ideal five with a viable
alternative to each in que….
June 28th, 2007 at 9:50 am
Wow, this team is going to be stacked.
June 28th, 2007 at 9:58 am
We SHOULD be stacked every year! NC here we come!
June 28th, 2007 at 9:58 am
Will someone post the link to the “this is why UK sucks” video, pls. You have to admit it’s funny.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:01 am
Hey.. we apeared out of nowhere.. so it can happen.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:05 am
I know these are discussions boards and nothing more but some of the comments on this one and others about MUST GET MILLER must come from people who want a player just because he is from Kentucky more that they want any other great player in his place. I just say one future lineup that one person posted and they didn’t even mention LEGIOON. gOOD GRIEF!!!!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:05 am
49 I hope Dwight Perry never gets his name on the jersey. Anything reminding me of the 03 class should cleared out, including Dwight hwo brings back awful memories of his terrible cousin, who everyone thought was good for some reason.
and yes Liggins is the man. I still want Darius Miller and Willie Warren along with a big guy like Zeller.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:08 am
It seems that some people have competely forgotten about Legion. If you have Legion why do you need Miller? It would be nice to have both but remember there is only one basketball used in a game.
Miller must be wanting to go where he can be the star.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:11 am
I don’t think we need anymore wing players for ‘08, meaning Warren and Miller should go elsewhere. Give me a C and a true PG and call it a class.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:12 am
56.
Only a Tard or IU fan cheers against UK basketball players.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:13 am
good grief psmitty
June 28th, 2007 at 10:15 am
I’m not sure how to make the pieces fit, but a class of…
Liggins
Zeller
Warren
Miller
& R Clarke
would just be soooo freakin awesome…
June 28th, 2007 at 10:16 am
So if every 2 1/2 months we sign 5 guys that means we are on pace to have 24 new signees by this time next year… maybe we could have 2 teams UK Damn Good and UK Total Domination. We could always add more as the new recruits warrant it.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:16 am
Sounds like we need to hook this guy up with a shot doctor
June 28th, 2007 at 10:18 am
I think all these people who don’t llike Gillispie’s choices in recruting worring too much about something that they cannot control. I know, I know, everyone is opinionaed.
I guess Tubby never recruited any so called head cases. Huh?
I haven’t heard about anyone that Gillispie has recruited so far that is not a highly rated player by the recruiting gurus”
June 28th, 2007 at 10:20 am
61 where does Legion fit in? I”ve heard that he is every bit as good as Miller.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:26 am
#62..we had something close to that in ‘96. The bench players on that team could have been ranked in the top 25.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:28 am
lEGION IS A 2, MILLER IS A 3, LIGGINS CAN PLAY 1,2,&3 THEY WOULD BE GREAT TOGETHER
June 28th, 2007 at 10:37 am
Anybody checked out Joe Lunardi’s (ESPN Bracketologist) new preseason bracket (updated 6/20/2007)? The Cats are steadily improving their seed…currently has us as a 3 seed. Doesn’t that sound good? Pretty soon we’ll be the top overall seed! Good to know that we aren’t the only ones that have a man crush on BCG!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:37 am
If Jasper stays through to his senior year, we’ll have the best passing team in the country in 2009 when GJ Villarino, Derrick Jasper, and DeAndre Liggins are playing 1-2-3. Damn!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:38 am
Oh by the way, Florida is a dropping number 9 seed…Lunardi rocks!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:40 am
56 No need for a full-fledged argument, but I never said I cheered against Bobby. I said he sucked and frankly with all these studs lining up to play for Kentucky again, I don’t want to think about all the terrible player’s we’ve had to watch over the last couple years. And frankly Dwight reminds me quite a bit of Bobby and brings back painful memories I’d rather not think of.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:41 am
Wow I just used frankly in consecutive sentences.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:41 am
wow Im an ididot again, my post was for 59 lex.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:49 am
65) I think #61 is talking about the 08′ class is all. Legion is a 2007 class BEAST!!
June 28th, 2007 at 10:52 am
I’d like to see us get Warren and Zeller to round out this class….
June 28th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Matt will you ask Liggins why he is leaving Washington High School in Chicago to attend Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH next season.
Thanks
June 28th, 2007 at 10:54 am
I watched the video clips…and believe me I understand clips show the best, but Liggins has great form on his shot…he just needs to speed up the process for D1 competition….which through drills and practice he will learn to do. He is a GREAT addition.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:56 am
Who’s this Frankly guy?
June 28th, 2007 at 10:58 am
77) I agree..his release needs to be quicker, but it appears he has the ability to knock down a shot, but his main thing is penetration and court awareness..once he breaks his man down off the dribble and kicks out to Legion adn maybe Clarke and certainly Meeks, no team will be able to defend that effectively
June 28th, 2007 at 11:08 am
I also think his style of play gives us better insurance that there won’t be 5-7 minute droughts of scoring like we have had the last few years, because of his ability to break down defenders.
June 28th, 2007 at 11:34 am
I still think this team needs a coupe of shooters. That’s why I’ve been high on Warren and Clark. We need some assassins out there that will just take the life out of opponents with timely 3-pointers. Right now I think Legion is the only one of those we have…and Bradley when he’s having a good night. That being said, I really want to see Darius Miller in blue and white (or, more importantly, in anything but orange or cardinal red).
June 28th, 2007 at 11:47 am
Can somebody remind me where we would open up the potential for academic scholarships? Could we put some combo of Coury, Porter, Stevenson, etc on academic scholarship to reopen a scholly or two for ‘08?
I know that the opportunity to come in and get some legit minutes was very important to Legion and Patterson, so I know we don’twant to crowd the bench to an excessive degree or we’ll start turning people off. Still though, you’ve gotta think we can shoe horn this ‘08 class into place.
June 28th, 2007 at 11:56 am
id like to see us get Zeller and Miller. and Washington this year. id be damn happy. shoo, im already happy. well except for the 4 months left til the season starts… ugh….
June 28th, 2007 at 11:57 am
I have heard that Carter is the best option for academic…and there is also a rumor floating around that Porter might switch to a football scholly…that would open up 2. I am also of the opinion that there will be 1 or 2 transfers after this season..like maybe Stevenson, Jasper or Porter.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:05 pm
i,m so happy that liggins committed. hopefully this will open the door to the talent in chicago. with chicago, louisana, and texas there is enough quality talent to keep us at top for many years. as for porter transferring i say that would be an injustice to him. he turned down a chance to go to usc but realized the pride of being a wildcat and he should be rewarded by staying with us. i hope we don’t run him off. also don’t forget his former teammate nelson reeves is a top 15 player in 2009.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
81, are your forgetting somebody by the name of MEEKS?!?!?! Kid can flat out bury them. And if you’re talking about this years seniors, I’d say that Crawford has a better shot than Bradley. Still, we lose both next year and, like many others have mentioned, we need a sharpshooter in 08 to reload. I’d personally love to see Zeller, Clarke, and Czyz (gotta love the fact that he WANTED to guard the best player on the opposing team) round out this class. If we have another spot, then Warren.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
You guys suck.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Come on, folks. If Miller comes here, great. If not, great. It is totally up to him as to whether or not he gets here. He is still being recruited by Billy G, so if he doesn’t come to UK, it is most likely becasue he is afraid that he can’t get the PT if competing with Legion, Liggins, Meeks, and whatever else gets on campus. I hope he comes here, but will not worry about it if he doesn’t.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
For the last time people Coury is not on Scholarship…he was just for one semester b/c we had an open one and it helped raise the grade point average.
June 28th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
Oh and if you were initially recruited for basketball you can’t switch to a football scholarship and still play b-ball. There are some weird rules around switching over to academic scholarship as well……
June 28th, 2007 at 12:48 pm
I’m overwhelmed with how quickly Coach G has turned this not-so-good, not-so-exciting team into one which is overflowing with talent. You know things are looking great when there are arguments over which five star player we want. We’re looking stacked for years with just the players recently brought in. Be excited for D’baby Liggings; he will dominate. All hail BIG BILLY
June 28th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
I would really love two MC Allamericans at every position but the problem would be lack of playing time for one or the other. In 96 the second 5 or so were not all americans.
I think I will really love to watch the High School Mc game this year because Kentucky will finally have some players in the game.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:02 pm
Now all fans have to worry about is keeping the NBA away from Lexington.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:05 pm
89 there seems to people who are not really informed about Kentucky basketball.
I would like to know just what advantages a walkon has? Does he get any financial assistance?
June 28th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
Kentucky fans should never complain or critize Gillispie if Miller does not come. He has a scholly on the table to take or go elsewhere. Maybe Miller is not a REAL KENTUCKY PERSON AFTER ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 28th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
I keep hearing comments about OTS 1 Championship/ BCG 0 Championships. That 98′ team belonged to Pitino.. College basketball is simply about recruiting. Pitino had the rare ability to keep a large number of great players happy with playing time and egos in check. A trait Tubby didn’t have. If you keep the roster stocked with top talent then you are always in contention and can compete with any style or team. Give BCG a couple of years to amass a team of his own talent and recruits and then make your comparisons. BCG is the best thing that has happened to UK in a long time and if he comes anywhere close to what Pitino had in the late 90’s then UK is back on top. Remember that Pitino’s teams when to the Championships 3 years in a row and won 2. Name a coach that has recruits that have acomplished that in the past 20 years. If Potino would have stayed then Coach K, Billy D, and Roy W would have to take a backseat to the success of the Cats. BCG may be just what we need to bring it back. His recruiting is looking top notch, lets just hope he has the whole package.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
It finally looks like the new practice facillity is now paying for its self. Thank Joe Craft for the contribution.
June 28th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
chalk up another whiff for maggard maggard had liggins going to memphis
welcome deandre
June 28th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
96 I don’t know how old you are but you certainly sound like a very knowledgeable mature person. Unlike a lot of posters on these boards.
You have hit the nail straight on the head. Gillispie certainly knows what he wants in a team.
He didn’t have anything like the talent at his previous schools as he is amassing here at Kentucky and he still won games against top talent. I just can’t imagine what he can do with the future talent at Kentucky.
He will not be able to get all top players to come to Kentucky but he will be on the equal with Florida, NC, Duke and UCLA and any other school. Even OHS with Matta.
He has already got some players that these teams would have taken in a second.

Why critize Maggard? Liggins made his decision since Maggard talked to him last.

#101 Do you really expect him to admit he was wrong? He defened the plow to the very end, like so many of the “Tubby Superfriends”.
Now that a tireless worker is in charge, none of the above want to acknowledge their complicity in allowing a complacent and lazy coach to remain in place for so many years. Thankfully, those of us on the right side of the argument were tireless in our campaign to remove “the plow” and we “all” can see the way recruiting should be at UK.

Tubby never has won with any of his own players. He didn’t do it at Tulsa, GA, and her sure as hell didn’t do it at UK. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Tubby as a person! Nobody in the business was more of a class act than he was. However, he didn’t get after it on the recruiting trail like he should have. If your a true UK fan, you have to question the direction the program was going under Tubby. This last year it was evident he wasn’t happy and the fans weren’t either. It was in the best interest for the university, bball program, fans, and players that he moved on.
By the way if BCG has back to back 10 loss seasons, I’ll want him out of town too! The bball program has to much support from fans and boosters not to compete on an elite national level year in and year out!
Kudos to BCG thus far, though we will know more once the season starts. My bet is he is just what the doctor ordered for OUR program!
GO CATS!!!

Maggard does not have time to answer your comments 98. Tom Huss is always going down on him.
