[Moderated by Matt Jones]

Just received confirmation that 2010 recruit Dakotah Euton has committed to the University of Kentucky. We hope to have him on the show this afternoon or tomorrow…..

Its like Rob lock with greasy hair and not much acne. WELCOME HOME!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:33 pm
Sweet!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:33 pm
Welcome young man!!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:33 pm
YESSSSS!!!!!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:35 pm
Kind of funny to have an 09 commit, an 10 commit but no 08 commits…but cool either way. Matt can you do a report on him,
a lot know very little about this guy.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
what is his height and weight? thanks
June 18th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
I had the oppurtunity to broadcast several of this kid’s games last year. He is the real deal, and thank Billy Clyde for getting this guy, because he would have been Duke or Fla bound under the previous regime.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
9- You just like to moan. Welcome to the Cats DE. Great to have you! BG is doing great things in a short time.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?cid=684104
June 18th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
I like the fact that we have beat Fla and Duke out of our last two commitments….
June 18th, 2007 at 1:43 pm
Great job Coach G..welcome to the Cats Dakotah..now talk to your teammate Jackson and see what you can do to get him.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
12) Dont like to moan I said it was cool either way, I was just saying it was funny. Tubby had some early commitments but they
were from 1/2 star talent like Adam Williams, Michael Porter, Mike Williams…glad to see things are changing
June 18th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
Chad Jackson his tag team partner at rose hill is no slouch either, tall scoring albeit raw point guard.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Anyone have an idea where he might rank in class of 2010 - top 10, top 50??
June 18th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Great news. Now if we could just get some 08 commitments.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:49 pm
He’s rated the #3 PF prospect in his class, for what that’s worth this early. Very talented kid.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:49 pm
Now thats what im Talkin bout. Now we need to get some 08′ Greats so we can be on our way to number 8 and 9 and 10. Wow, Im pumped to be a Cat fan again.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:50 pm
This Euton kid is still growing. He was 6′6 when I broadcasted his games last year (as a freshman). He is listed at 6′8 currently. He will probably be top 25
June 18th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Never talked to these kids personally, but I know some people who know them & say they are great kids, especially Jackson.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Plus, he’s from Kentucky
June 18th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
If you cant read that article it quotes Euton as saying it was a no brainer, he loves UK’s entrance before games, and has
his whole room done up in Kentucky. He said Gillispie said he wouldnt take a commitment from him so early if it wasnt for the
fact he expects him to be a big impact player. Euton said he liked Billy G because he is always making jokes and doesnt make
you feel nervous around him like a lot of other coaches. BCG told Euton know one will out work BCG, sounded as if he was referring to outworking in recruiting. Very good read, will be interesting to see if Euton is able to stay a top player in the class.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
Jerry Tipton nailed that one…said Florida was his favorite. What an idiot, the LHL is SO NEGATIVE.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
I saw this guy play at the King of the Bluegrass in the winter, and I think he is a legit talent. I think this is great news, although you never know what will happen over the course of the three years. My feeling on getting an early commitment is that if the coach doesn’t like how the guy has progressed he can still recruit over the guy which would probably influence him to leave anyway, but I don’t think that will be the case here because Euton is a very good player.
For those who have not seen him, Euton is a big man with decent perimeter skills. I personally would compare him to a Scott Padgett type just for the sake of familiarity, but at this point he is probably not as good a shooter but he is better with the dribble. One of the scouts actually compared him to Issel which is nice.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
are we going to get any ‘08 recruits? is anybody else worried at all? I love Billy G, but i thought we would have wrapped some up already. Do you think we will have some verbals by the end of the summer? I guess Midnight Madness will help.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:56 pm
o baby i love it!!!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
Its not funny that we have an 09 and 10 commit now. Its freakin great. It gives us a piece of th epuzzle, and also frees up some time otherwise spent to pursue kids who are really struggling to make their mind up.
Also gives us something to talk about with potential recruits who would be playing with Euton. Kids who commit early also serve as publicists. The only negative is if a kid commits and then they dont work as hard and/or develop. This kid being from KY, i see no possible way that this i bad because the positives outweigh the negatives by far
June 18th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
alright! welcome to the cats D.E.!
June 18th, 2007 at 1:58 pm
28) As long as Clark in 07, and 08-Miller, Zeller, Singelton, Clarke, Warren, the Poland guy are all not committed elsewhere then there
isnt anything to worry about yet. What seems to be our top 7 prospects are still there with only three spots to fill.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
#18 hoopsreport.com has him rated #12.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
Great commitment! He may be a top 5 at his position by his senior year.
Has anyone heard when UKUncensored will be back up?
June 18th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
30) I didnt mean funny in a negative way, maybe “ironic” or “interesting” would have been a better choice of words
June 18th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
We can do better than Osby (even though he is a nice player)BCG will get his, Uk is in on 20-some 2008 recruits, stay tuned………and patient
June 18th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
GRRRRREAT news! Duke and Florida may just as well give up trying to sign anyone out of Kentucky.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
33) Good find hadnt seen this site. How crediable are they?
http://www.hoopsreport.com/player_rankings_view.php?id=4
June 18th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
I thought Florida was his favorite school? Tiptonite anyone?
June 18th, 2007 at 2:04 pm
Florida was his favorite school befoe Billy G began recruiting him. Apparently Euton must not have been a fan of the Tubby staff
because he said they were not being considered until Billy G came in.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:05 pm
That is great news…welcome to UK Euton….still a little down
about Osby…but somehow I think we will be allright.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
we have one of my four i hope we get for 2010. i hope we get deshaun thomas, k.c.ross-miller, chad jackson, and of course dakota euton. i think that would be a top 3 recruiting class.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
Osby’s stock was dropping fast. I understood he really liked UK but hadn’t gotten an offer. He’s gone from a 5 star to a 4 star.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
I can’t believe there are fans that are “worried”. As long as BCG is our coach, I dont think I’ll ever be “worried”. For those of you that are “worried”, just be patient this first full year of recruiting. I think you will find that everything else will just kinda fall into place.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:08 pm
Go Big Blue! Bily Clyde rides again!! Here is to hope that Billy Clyde is as offensive on the sidelines as he is signing these recrits. I want to see some more 100 point games with lock down defense! I can here the ball bouncing………….
June 18th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
#40 Thats b/c Tubby wouldn’t have heard about the kid until his senior season
June 18th, 2007 at 2:13 pm

June 18th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
10 years down the road, does anybody care to predict BCG’s W-L record, Final Four Appearances, and National Titles?
June 18th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
I said it before, and I’ll say it again. UK fans will love watching Euton play. I’m just glad he’s gointg to be a Wildcat.
He played for an AAU team called the Patriots. They pretty much demolished everone in the state of KY his 7th and 8th grade years. He was good then…and his coaches rode him HARD during the games. That team was all about hustle, and never quitting. Regardless of the score.
I will disagree with the Pagett comparison. He is a further along, a better ball handler, and works a lot gharder than Pagett did in HS. I watched SP in HS. Euton is better as a freshman than Pagett was as a senior.
If I could imagine him in college….I would mix Hayes and Sheppard together. Thats about as close as I can get.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
I’m in GREAT HOPES he will be another great player like this one.
http://bigbluehistory.net/bb/Statistics/Players/Issel_Dan.html
June 18th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Heres an old school comparison….a young Tom Chambers, with a chance to become a great post player
June 18th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
what’s up with ukuncensored site?
June 18th, 2007 at 2:30 pm
#42) You know Thomas has committed to Ohio St. right?
June 18th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
#49
258-64 4 FF’s, 2 NC’s. 8 SEC reg season titles, 9 tournament titles.
I’m not worried about the 08 recruits…Yet. IN BCG I trust.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
#54, Thomas gave a verbal to OSU (saying it woundn’t change later :-)) only to de-commit a few days later. Pretty funny stuff.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:35 pm
id be happy with a couple final fours and maybe one NC
June 18th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
I like the Tom Chambers comparison–that is pretty old school. I just hope we sign someone like Reggie Miller in the next couple of years. I think I was pretty spot on when I compared a high school SR. by the name of Tay Prince to Reggie Miller with better defense and not quite as much of a deadly shooter.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
Oh I did not hear that he opted out of his verbal.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
I’ve read articles that compare him to Dan Issel, Man I Hope these people who watch and write about him being another Dan Issel are true!!
June 18th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
49) 260-45, 8 SEC champs, 5 final fours, 2 NC
June 18th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
actually, 300-45
June 18th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
damn this kid’s one ugly guy!! however, as long as he can hoop…
June 18th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
#42 unless something has changed in the last couple days i dont’t believe he has committed to anybody or re-opened to ohio state. GO BILLY G AND CATS!!!!
June 18th, 2007 at 2:44 pm
If he could turn into another Tom Chambers or Jack Sikma I would be happy…..
June 18th, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Congrads to Billy G. and the staff! Welcome home Dekotah- cannot wait to
see you play in Rupp.
I think this sends a strong message to other basketball programs (Duke, Florida) that Kentucky
prospects will now consider becoming a Cat first. Go UK!
June 18th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
63- Not ugly- mean. I would be afraid to run into this kid anywhere. I’m pretty sure he will hurt people. I love it. GO Billy!!!!!
June 18th, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Did anyone else read Tipton’s article about the commitment?
“Euton acknowledged that the early commitment means he’ll
have to wait three years before joining the UK team.
A lot can happen in three years. After all, in 2005 UK
advanced to the region final and came within a rebound of
reaching the Final Four. Then-Coach Tubby Smith was
celebrated as one of the nation’s top coaches.”
Was this really necessary?
June 18th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Lovin’ it. Top recruits committing early as to not miss out.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
68- I find it amazing Tipton can still safely walk around.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:54 pm
I thought Thomas decommitted.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:54 pm
Oops was away too long…Euton is good commit!
June 18th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
Tipton=Crack Head Mom sucking the welfare system dry. Why don’t some of you guys that live in Lexington pay a visit to this BOZO. Maybe his services would be more respected in Knoxville.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
I’ve watched UK Basketball for years and I’m sure I’m older than many on this website , My main point for saying that is because Billy Gillispie is just flat impressing me as a recruiter and coach…Yet he’s not coached one game for our UK Wildcats yet!!
I LOVE this workaholic guy !! Billy G you are one devoted man to the sport Kentuckians love the most ! KY Wildcat basketball is ALIVE Again !
June 18th, 2007 at 2:57 pm
I think he should shave his head once he lands in Lexington. Can you imagine that face with a shaved head? Maybe a face tattoo too.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
I like your idea (75
June 18th, 2007 at 3:09 pm
I think Euton is a slow, plus he’s a 16 year old freshman. I’m a little unsure about this one.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
He looks more like Sikma to me. I like a guy that sweats. Reminds me of me.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
#77, if you are unsure, then you don’t know basketball (no offense).
There is no guarantee he will be a superstar, but there is a guarantee he will be at the very least a top 100 player (likely top 50 at worst really) and if that isn’t good enough, then so be it.
A guy at his height with a great skill set and time to improve his strength and mobility = Big-time get!
June 18th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
I thought Euton was talked about like a package deal with another kid. Anyone know who the other kid is?
June 18th, 2007 at 3:17 pm
I’ll bet money, Euton will be much better than Sheray, Shagari and Marvin Stone.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
What the hell is this, a sports blog or a junior high school locker room? Why are so many of you being so hateful about a 15-year-old kid’s looks? How great did YOU look at 15? The kid looks fine to me. And he bleeds blue. Cut him some slack, for crying out loud.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
LMFAO the LHL led by clueless Jerry Tipton is a day late and a dollar short on another story. I’m convinced those bozos sit aroung write articles without ever actually talking to a source or the person the articles is about. Matter of fact yesterday’s article took a quote from DE’s day that was a couple of months old and used that as his point of reference. That is downright lazy reporting in my opinion. Makes the guy look like the jackass that he is.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
he maybe 6-5 maybe, he still might grow some. But when he plays againt players his age, which he does not in AAU, he looks slow. Foot work can improve he does have 3 years to get there. I hope I’m wrong just staying what I have seen.
he does have a nice shot, but he can’t create on his own.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:19 pm
It’s great that these in-states are starting to come to UK so early and with such confidence. This is a blue-breeded kid that loves the cats and I think will bring some heart to the future team. I was at the KY-Indiana game and it’s one thing to see the KY kids lose but another to see them play flat and unmotivated. I think the future is looking better on the horizom though.
Also- Billy Clyde in ten years will be around 250 wins, 3 final fours, two national championships, 7 sec champs, and 6 sec tourney champs. Also a 10-0 record against the Cards!
June 18th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
#54, #56, #71, when i made my list of the players i hope uk lands for 2008 2009 and 2010 a couple weeks back i had read that deshaun thomas had backed put of his commitment with ohio state but everything i’ve just looked up suggests that he is going to stand by that commitment. i hope scout or rivals can give us an update on his status.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
No need to worry about the lack of ‘08 verbals so far. It’s still relatively early. Thanks to the previous regime’s suckitude, CBG has a lot of ground to make up with the elite prospects in the ‘08 class. UK will sign some very good ‘08 players, but, as has already been seen, ‘09 and ‘10 is when UK will hit very big in the recruiting circles.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
six foot five??? I’ve read many articles that say Euton is six foot eight !!
June 18th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
His team mate Chad Jackson!
June 18th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
80) Package deals rarely happen but you never know. I believe your referring to his teammate, he is a point guard. Dont
know his name but Euton was said to be the best of the two.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:25 pm
84, Why did Florida offer him?
June 18th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
2010???? I keep expecting to hear, THIS IS CHRIS HANSEN WITH Dateline NBC, and we are running a report on obsessed Kentucky basketball fans.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
Euton will be 6′10″ in a couple years!
June 18th, 2007 at 3:26 pm
#80 i think you are thinking of his teammate 6′5″ gaurd chad jackson. i had read somewhere that they projected he would end up being a top 30 prospect.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
He looks like one of the Cobra Kai.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Billy G is the man, ky will be on top again, and i cant wait
June 18th, 2007 at 3:41 pm
This is what Rivals had to say on Jackson: Combo guard Chad Jackson, Euton’s teammate at Rose Hill, is a good looking prospect. Also a 2010 kid, Jackson has a frame that will fit in nicely at the next level. He’s wiry and strong despite his thin frame. He has a good understanding of the game for a youngster. In fact, he could be the best pure prospect on the team and is a sure fire high-major guy at the end of the day.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:46 pm
#91–Because he is a KY kid and BD gets wood when he thinks of stealing a KY kid from us. He’s a punk. Why do you think he jump on Jai Lucas’ ship? Never had much to do with him until it looked like he was leaning our way, so BD started recruiting him.
LHL has a short story on Euton online. Sounds like a good, religious kid. We need a few of those. And he said he gave BCG his word he’d honor his commitment and BCG gave him his that the scholly would be there for him. If you can trust the LHL, that is. I’m not even going to link to it. Tired of giving them props.
June 18th, 2007 at 3:51 pm
98) Lucas had been recruited by Florida for a long time, he never listed them as a top prospect because of Green. Dont
think just because recruits dont mention programs doesnt mean they havent heard from them. Lucas isnt going to be like
“Florida keeps calling me but I’m not interested…” No they just list schools that are their top choices. Green leaving changed
a lot of things. Lucas is an all-american it wasnt like uk was after some project and BD just came in and took him just to
tick us off…
June 18th, 2007 at 3:56 pm
91) did he, or did his dad say he did to put pressure on BCG? Stand next to the kid he’s 6-5, maybe he’ll get taller, I hope so.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
no. 92 I’ve been reading this site for some time and have never posted a comment before I had to say that was the best i’ve seen yet. I’m still laughing.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Here’s one that has him 11http://www.cstv.com/recruiting/baskbl-recruiting2007-class2010.html

June 18th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
what the crap is wrong with uk uncensored??
June 18th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
These people that make fun of a person’s looks can’t be anything but children themselves. I assume that they must really think that they are something great to look at. What stupedity to say the least.
This kind of people don’t deserve to have a really great player to come to Kentucky.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:21 pm
#84-Good Assessment of Euton. He is slow because of his age and still growing but has advanced
skills for a freshman. He is still developing and thankfully has three years in H.S. to work
on his foot speed, overall athleticism, etc. I will give him 6′6″ but hope he is still
growing, not athletic enough at this point to play the wing in College. He is ahead of Scott
Padgett at this stage but let’s not get carried away with the Dan Issel comparisons. I
trust BCG’s eye for talent so I think he should be a good prospect down the road but
still has a long way to go.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:24 pm
But you have to admit he looks like Rob Lock. Not to make fun that’s just fan nature.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
No Billy Harrison, I’m a grown ass man… just making a joke about the obvious..damn, you people gettin all worked up over a joke about someone’s looks.. relax!!! lol… you must have been called ugly when you were young, that’s why you take it so personal..
June 18th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
ROB LOCK THANK YOU!!! (thought i was losing my mind)
June 18th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
Man, you guys are some weirdos. Ummm, tall white guys who have exceptional b-ball talent are rarely male models. Larry Bird & Bill Walton will not be doing CK ads any time soon. But who gives two craps? They’re in the HOF. That is beautiful.
June 18th, 2007 at 4:57 pm
I’m actually excited about Wildcat basketball again!!!!! and it sounds like a lot of other people are too!!! Thank you Billy G
June 18th, 2007 at 5:00 pm
I’d also like to add he’ll get more tail in one year @ UK than you’ll get your whole life. It will be a lot better looking, too.
June 18th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
61) I have a hard time believing we’d only lose an average of 4.5 games a year… MAYBE THOUGH!
I’ll say 268-59 3 final fours, 2 NC, 6 regular season SEC regular season titles with 5 sec tourny titles. Not to shabby considering how bad it was when he took over.
June 18th, 2007 at 6:42 pm
Awesome news on Dakotah Euton. I don’t care if it is in 2010, Euton committing to UK this early will make him better… best of luck to him.
June 18th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
114) now he can forget about the recruiting process and just concentrate on improving over the next few years. I hear he has a very fundamental-savy kind of game… I think we’ve been missing that typoe of player for the past few years (wonder why)
June 18th, 2007 at 7:16 pm
This kid will decommitt and go elsewhere its too early to take a player from that class!
June 19th, 2007 at 12:42 am
112) Ain’t that the truth…no matter how he looks
June 19th, 2007 at 1:21 am
Man, I wish the season would start already.
Would really like to see some action from some of the ‘08 kids that have been offered.
June 20th, 2007 at 8:55 am
#116 I’m sure that is your hope. You wouldn’t happen to be a Gayturd fan, would you?
June 20th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Mrbluehead,Ive watched Dakotah Play basketball since he was in the 4 grade he has alot of speed I dont know what you claim to have seen but your info is dead wrong. Before Jaskson came Dakotah brought the ball up the floor all the time, and also played up front when they full court pressed, which is the only defence they hardly ever used.Dakotah is a very good outside shooter, handels the ball real well and passes great he is the tatal package.Ive been wanting in ky blue since he was in the 5 grade.
